Created VB6 Addin for automating the adding of headers, error handling, and custom comments into VB6 projects. Also generate project reports listing all modules, classes, and forms of the project, along with all methods of each module, class, and form. All modules, methods, constants and variables could then be input into database. This allowed us to removed duplicate code. 176 procedures were duplicated at least once, adding an additional 25,000 lines of code. VB6, MSDE

Created remote VB.NET application to query XML files on server. VB.NET

Clean up 500+ late binding (Option Strict was set to “off”) errors with VB.NET middle tier components.

Combined main application (6 executables) into a single application. The entire application can be navigated completely through in less than 1 minute, where as before it would take as much as 10 minutes (mainly due the each app closing, and spawning the next app in the flow, and each time having to communicate with server). This has been a desired change for the past 5+ years. Estimate from Avanade Consulting was 45 days. Completed prototype in 1 week, and submitted to team architect. Completed design in 2 days, and completed construction in 4 days.

Created VB.NET error handling component and implemented it throughout application.

Created VB.NET remoting application to communicate with the file server for reading and update XML files located on the server.

Redesigned existing application to validate Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) data. Previous application would validate approximately 20,000 documents per 8-hour shift. Redesigned application would validate same documents in less than 30 minutes.
